brass mallet?
THANKIOUPR❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I got one of them except its modern and non stick, best pan for cooking steak.
Great job with the pan👍👍 but I feel bad it’s first cooking job had to be with such a horrible cut of beef 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻 should have cooked a rib eye 👍👍I find and restore alote of cast never seen it done like you I’m going to try it thank you👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸
I found a cast iron griddle rusty and in the trash just the same. I rubbed it with steel wool and soybean oil, then washed it throughly. Dried in a hot oven. Then seasoned.
@@michaelf7093 they never die! Thank you for saving it!
@@AJRestoration I use it on my gas range to this day!
Keren bang
Through it in a good hot wood fire. Get it nice and cherry red let it cool naturally. Clean it up a little with a wire wheel and start seasoning it in a 350%F oven with some lard lightly rubbed all over it. Put it on the middle rack with an aluminum drip tray under it. For like 40 minutes. Bring it out and let it cool some more lard on it just lightly careful not to burn yourself again put it back in your 350%F oven for like 20 minutes turn the heat off and let it sit right side up till cool in the oven or on top of the stove. Be careful not to burn your self. When it's done it should have a hard shiny surfaces
The extreme heat can destroy the value of any collectible pieces. Grinding certainly will.
Pretty sure my childhood gokart (handed down from my parents childhood) has the same engine (minus the exhaust) - trying to get it up and running for my own child now...know nothing about engines so lots of youtube. What is the model for this? Trying to find a replacement carburator.
I can tell you this is way too much work. And you don't need any chemicals. All you need is a steel wire rotary brush on a angle grinder such as a DeWalt. The brush will clean all of the rust off very quickly and will not damage the cast iron in any way. I have completely restored over 30 pieces of cast iron and it works great.
Awesome job but I didn't see you put the float pin back in
Nice job
If care and effort will get it running, it will run like new. It looks like it's ready for it's second life!
Nice Project looks great. I am re doing a Bendix Westinghouse buss compressor. haven't found any replacement pistons yet
I enjoyed your video so I gave it a Thumbs Up
Awesome thank you buddy!
Complicamated words ... my brein te klein
Hahahaha lovit! Try dai se as jy so paar brannas in het.
@AJRestoration I can't find old cast iron pots etc here in the Netherlands. My dream is to do a road trip through the small towns in SA and visit the pawn shops and gather a collection of iron stuff to restore. Dream dream. Maybe one day hey
What did you spray it with? Olive oil or something else? Nice job too.
When you do that oneday, be sure to check out the local hospices too, they almost always have cast iron on a shelf somewhere. Pawnshops also always have some.
Yes it was done with olive oil spray, I wanted to try something different.
Pekerjaan yang lama dan membosankan
A right way is to use a puller
Nope, pullers have broken flywheels and stripped threads and mushroomed shafts, aske me how I know. This method with the soft copper hammer never damaged anything before. The copper hammer is the better way.
Until you break the thread or the case half.
I subscribed because I said u better cook a steak and you did 👍🇦🇺
Aaaaaw yea! Haha welcome!
Can I successful use this method on the pans I currently use everyday? But wish to completely strip them down to bare metal and start over with a new foundation on them! Lastly, how long does this method last, compared to alternate methods here on u-tube? I anxiously await your responses, to get started on my beloved pans! I thank you in advance! 👍😎🇺🇸😇
If they are cast iron it will most definitely work. I have had to do a tough up seasoning on one of my cast iron skillets once, I Have been using it for about 4 months every day until I had to add a layer of seasoning. The food started to stick to it and the layers started to look a little thin (could see the metal starting to show) then you know its time.
I spent about $400 on a new, Teflon, cookware set when I moved into my new home in 2013. Junk. Not worth giving it away - the frypan bottom is coming loose, which makes it dangerous. Wish somebody had told me that just a few, good quality, cast iron pans would be all I'd need, forever. I have three skillets, of different size, a deep pot, and that's all I need. Thanks for posting.
Everybody should have a good-quality cast iron pan - the best to cook with. Take care of it, and it will last many generations.
How do you make those new engine tags? The engine model tag and the gas tag label? They're so nice
Beautiful restoration, loved the hammered paint job on the valve cover and throttle 😊
Great video 😊
I restored a pan like this by just burning it into flames. No need for this fancy trick.
Its not fancy haha its simple and easy.
Why don’t you make your own videos?
13:50 It's always amazing that a small engine consists of so many individual parts.
GREAT VIDEO, I HAVE LEARNT ALOT
Glad it was helpful!
Io di solito uso battere sul bordo del volano, vedo che hai usato un martello di rame.bravo
The four seasons. V2.
I have a dutch oven that looks a little like that, that I will do, and I need to season my skillet again. I will try you methods.
How to improperly season cast iron.
There's always one guy hahaha
Not many people can safely use electrolysis in their garage to remove rust like this😒😑
If they have good ventilation, then yes they can. Its simple and easy.
3:20 NO SALT! 👎Electrolysis with salt releases toxic Chlorine Gas. Use Sodium Carbonate Washing Soda) which only releases CO2. Or Baking Soda (not as effective). Still only CO2 Gas.
Electrolysis of saltwater produces hydrogen and chlorine; and leaves sodium hydroxide behind. You get chlorine gas as a product only when NaCl is added. Its safe to use at this scale, as long as you have ventilation in your workspace.
What? No paint stripper?
OR you could just replace it with a Predator Engine which is a Honda Clone.
